Liedberg, Germany

The historic village of Liedberg is situated in the district of Korschenbroich in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Schloss Liedberg is a small castle in Baroque style located on the outskirts of the village. The mill tower is also evidence of the long history of this place. The village center with its landmarked timber-framed buildings is situated on the north slope of the hill. The Rhenish framework houses are a picture perfect example of what you imagine historic homes in Germany to be.

The numerous mining centers indicate that the Liedberg was once intensively used as a source of building and raw materials. This also explains the name of the Sandbauernhof ("sand farm") in the village center which today is used for concerts and exhibitions.

Liedberg won the "Unser Dorf soll schöner werden" (“Our village shall become more beautiful”) competition in 1985.
